Different internet services work differently if you are on a cable type of internet services there is nothing else to do  If you are on DSL and have a DSL modem/router from your phone company (Westell 2200 versions and higher) you will have set UDP and ICP port forwarding for port 3389 for remote assistance to work properly. Call your internet services provider for instructions to do this.  If you have a Linksys or other brand of dedicated router you can ether set the computer you want to receive remote assistance on to DMZ or also set port forwarding on your router.  please check your owner's manual for instructions or call the manufacture of your router's support number for instructions.  You might also have to change the settings of your DSL modem depending on the way your equipment is setup. You can also get some good information on port forwarding from http://www.portforward.com/.  They have some great information as to set port forwarding on many different brands of modems and routers.

If you are not using Windows Xp we can still connect to your computer and help you by remote using Pc Anywhere (Software purchase and license required).  PC Anywhere is a Symantec product and can be purchased from us, directly from Symantec or just about any computer software store.  NBI support charges will still apply.
